This Saturday is International Mud Day from the World Forum Foundation. The World Forum Foundation is an international organization focused on connecting early childhood educators to improve the lives of children everywhere. International Mud Day began as an event between two sister schools, one in Australia and one in Nepal, and has since spread throughout the world. You can see Instagram posts of the celebrations from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

For more from the World Forum Foundation see their Voices of the Children Documentary (less than 25 minutes) from their Children's Rights Working Group.

Stop by Bonnie's Cafe to see updates from member schools/education centers around the world.

There was a big mud pile event at our local children's garden. PigPen would be proud.

I'm running a trail race Saturday that's notorious for having sloppy, slippery, muddy trails. Perfect!

It's been a while since I've played in mud! My friend and I would go outside after it rained and dig up earthworms and gently braid them. They would crawl unbraided, and we would keep braiding. Much fun. (This friend has had some bitter disappointments in life and I can't imagine her doing such a thing now, but I hope she can remember these carefree times.)

This seems timely, although the temperature is a bit off... Huge boiling mud pool opens up in suburban Rotorua
