For the first time in history the winners of the five major beauty pageants are all Black women.
The titles of Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are now all held by women of the African diaspora. These wins are striking a blow for representation and are reminding women they don't have to fit European standards of beauty.

Uh... Miss Universe is not held by a woman from the African diaspora, it's held by a woman from Africa itself (you go Zozi!).

Miss France as well - the third time in the century of the contest's history that the title went to a black woman from Guadeloupe.

This is wonderful, and I love that they don't all have processed straightened hair.
