The square footage on this place is... big

The listing for this forest-encircled house in California includes some interesting photos. The reclusive resident generally keeps to herself, but trying to shift a property in these times means you have to put yourself out there.

Clever and all, but they’re maybe having trouble selling it because it’s liable to go up with all those trees if there’s a forest fire.

“I remember seeing somebody in an inflatable tea Rex costume a couple years back”

Look out, the memes are cross-pollinating!!

I love that Bigfoot is doing the two-handed cozy coffee hold.

This is why we can't find Sasquatch in Oregon!

I thought this was pretty cute so I sent the link on to some of my friends. Sharing cute things with friends is good, right? Soooo, yeah.... my one friend writes me back: "WHY WOULD YOU SEND ME THIS". I totally forgot he has a bigfoot/yeti phobia. Whooops.

With good reason. Those things are completely unprincipled.

I'd want to clear all the trees away from the house to 100' at least if I lived there.

😲 😱

See, I know this is fake because houses like that in forests for under a million dollars don't exist in California.

It's probably just a single-wide in one of those inflatable costumes.

Wait, people are phobic of mythical creatures?

Are you actually trying to summon Cthulhu?

Didn’t we just see this?

Wait, people are phobic of mythical creatures?

People a couple towns south of me (Irvine, CA to be precise) voted down a military cemetery because of all the ghosts it would attract into their homes, so yeah.

Didn’t we just see this?

We did! I searched the URL, but that's the listing. Flagged, for a double.

Nooo, please leave this post up! I missed the original post, so the comments here led me to that.

Also, nice post title.

Tea Rex is the one who can't hold a hot cup unless it has handles, right?

Y'all, I did my undergrad at UC Santa Cruz ... Felton is a dream (or was 30 years ago, whatevs).

I want. Bigfoot can stay.

Nice house, but for a million dollars? I'm cursed to be old, and having spent tender years in California more than fifty years ago, Santa Cruz has become a dimmed myth, a long-past dream of long hair and faded baggies and big guns at sunrise when storms and offshore winds make the ride worth the wait.

Also, I'm pretty sure Bigfoots don't carry Covid. Shaggy dog story.

Very cool place but seems like a ton for such a small house. For comparison, here's a random 1.1 million dollar house in Raleigh, NC where we complain all the time about how much prices are going up:

a random million dollar house in Raleigh, NC

1.5 acre, 6,599 sq. ft. (!!), great landscaping. Still way out of the range of NC tech salaries ... plus no bigfoot.

I go back and forth between eat the rich and ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh nice

But if we eat the rich, then we get all their stuff - it's win-win!

Felton is the trees, everything else is whatever. You buy a house in Felton because of the trees. Unfortunately with this house, you would have to cut down two other houses, if you want a 100 foot clearance. Felton sits in the midst of Redwood preserves. I have visited there, a place with fairy rings of redwoods, nothing else in sight but trees, and the ocean at sunset. You have to get up on top to have this sort of area, maybe clear some brush to feel safe. Looking up through those big trees, waving over head, while you rest up from the journey, whatever your journey was, that is what Felton is about. The realtors would like everything there to be in the million dollar range, and some places are still less, with more acreage than Sasquatch's.
