Elin Thomas makes corals, petri dishes, and moldy stuff using embroidery and crochet, along with other art.
These are great. Great use of materials - especially the yarn halo for the molds. So good.

I was thinking the same thing, janell! The use of the yarn halo and what looks like it might be unspun fibre in some cases really sets this apart.

As a knitter whose crochet skills lag far behind, I’m always in awe of people who can make things like this. In real life, mould grosses me out, but I think her Petri dishes and mould sculptures are amazing and beautiful!
