I have never watched NGE and I am convinced that this is note-perfect.

Surprisingly accurate, but without the Spear of Longinus subplot I fear people may not fully understand what's going on. {|} Also, needs more cicadas.

Yep, that's pretty much how it goes. Needed the elevator scene. And more Shinji x Rei and Shinji x Asuka. Oh, and more power cables.

I shared this to my group "nerd" chat, writing "this is maybe a bit long and also annoying, but hey, that's like Eva itself ..."
(I did clarify it was said with LOVE but I assume they all already knew that. I have had many conversations with them about Evangelion and I am unapologetic about how much I love the series. It's a huge, beautiful weird mess and it means a lot to me.)
This was fun and also seemed like a lot of work for just that. Good for them.

The missing bit that bugged me was why Ritsuko really destroyed the clones, but I suppose I'm showing my fan cred by nitpicking. Didn't notice any mention of fan service in the "next episode" preview, either, though I loved what was done with that section otherwise.
Really enjoyed it overall; it had me laughing quite a bit. I especially liked their take on the Kaji gardening scene, since that's one of my favorite moments from the anime and manga.

Nice job holding on the scene where Unit-01 has Kaworu in its fist, but another 10 or 20 seconds would have been perfect.

As a spousal unit who viewed the original series in an attempt to bond further with spousal unit formative media.....this was fucking weird and nonsensical. But it's 2020 and it looks like it was ....filmed...?...recorded; ...in places I used to live, so, yay. It was A Lot less fucking weird and nonsensical than the original so further yay.
My huge admiration for these people for doing this. THIS IS WHAT YOU DO WITH THE LEFTOVER CARDBOARD FROM YOUR DELIVERIES!!!

As a pedantic nerd who deeply loves Evangelion, I can say that this video is 100% accurate. おめでとう (although their pronunciation of Kaworu did kill me a little)

Japanese law requires that all anime series feature at least one cute animal sidekick and/or catgirl. Its presence does not have to make sense or be explained in any way, in fact doing so is somewhat frowned upon.
