Julia Lillard is retired energy analyst, who started making digital collages in her 60's.
Self taught, living in Oklahoma and influenced by Hannah Hoch and Max Ernst, her output is a nostalgia of dada and surrealism from another era.

These are very good. I’m impressed that she’s self taught and shifted from an unrelated field to such a different one after retirement. I like reminders of later-in-life renaissances.

Wow, so good. Feels like her career as an energy analyst informs this work, with the way she works with scientific illustration and illustrations of technology.

I had never heard of digital collage. Thanks for the post, OP! How is it even possible to make this stuff? It’s amazing.

Technically, this is not that difficult. Hi-res copyright-free images are freely available, more so than the original print copies, then silhouetting in Photoshop. The art is in taking a finished, balanced composition and disrupting it. I love this.
