A bucolic scene

When Ireland went into coronavirus lockdown in March 2020, musician Patrick Dexter began posting online videos of himself playing the cello. Since then, the open-air recitals, shot outside his picturesque cottage in Mayo on the rural west coast, have been viewed millions of times. Here’s a video of Patrick interviewed on CNN by Christiane Amanpour a few days ago, and performing On Raglan Road. And here’s a previous short interview on BBC. Enjoy!

The good news is, there will be at least another nine weeks of cello concerts since our lockdown has been extended! For a fourth time! So all the cool lockdown content will carry on being wonderful.

Thanks so much for posting that, good lord is that just exactly what we didn't know we needed here on a Sunday morning - so what for an hour or two diversion and now we'll just let it play while we make brunch, perfect.

On Raglan Road is one of my favorite tunes/poems. His rendition as a cello solo is lovely and moving, his singing is nearly as good. Thanks for the grand link.
