Stitching together of two separate interviews from 8-9 years apart! [alternate link] Here is Tavi Gevinson's link to the now sadly defunct Rookie Magazine.
I was wondering what was up with Ms. Gevinson after she closed the magazine. looks like she has transitioned into being a Broadway Actress.
EXTRA: Here is her article on singing Sondheim songs on Broadway [alternate link].
I used to think I liked fleetwood mac but it turned out I just like stevie nicks

The Gun Song is also weighing heavily these days...
What a wonder is a gun!
What a versatile invention!
First of all, when you've a gun—
Everybody pays attention!
When you think what must be done,
Think of all that it can do:
Remove a scoundrel
Unite a party
Preserve the union
Promote the sales of my book!
Ensure my future
My niche in history
And then the world will see
That I am not a man to overlook!
Ha-ha!

I was listening to Warren Zevon and the lyric "Where will you go/ With your scarves and your miracles?" made me wonder, dude, did you just break up with Stevie Nicks before you wrote this?

I have to confess that for me Stevie Nicks was more of a joke than a singer. I was never a Fleetwood Mac fan. But something led me to read the article, then I read the long Wikipedia entry. What I found was a really thoughtful, honest, and highly creative person. She was all over the place musically in her long career and still remained herself. And her constant journaling as a foundation for her creative work made me jealous. I guess I have to catch up with that part of the last fifty years I missed. Thank you for posting this.
