Incredible. Truly a field where with enough gumption and effort, an underdog of any nation could rise to the top.

I'm not sure how I'd benefit from beating this record, but the temptation to cheat just to do so requires resisting. (I'm not going to pay them to confirm the largest stack of C. Howard's Violet.) Fun!

That link just took me to random stuff on Yahoo! (note: exclamation point is part of the site name, not indicative of surprise). Here is a link to what was probably the story Yahoo! (sic) published.

Interesting what people will pick to be competitive about—and what they can learn to do. I doubt I could stack two M&Ms, since I would prefer to eat them.

Sadeq's quote at the end of the article is amazing: "I could possibly balance anything, but it gets really tough with light objects or liquids."

Now I want to see him stack liquids.

Mars needs to get on this shit and produce a line of Competition-Grade M&Ms. $19.95/bag. Except they're just the same candies inside.

I can stack 7 Necco wafers. Wait, where’s everyone going?

I stacked eight, once, but Guinness slammed their official ruler on the table and I lost the chance to take pics. Damn you, Guinness.

I would never have imagined that the world record in a competitive stacking event has only recently required more than one hand's worth of fingers to convey.

Those look like super large m and m's...

He's also an accomplished stacker in general: Sadeq is co-holder of the world record for Most Balanced Eggs on the Back of the Hand. (It's 18 eggs.)

I wonder if the record for Reese's Pieces is different.

Are you allowed to sort through bags to find ones that are more flat?

From Google: Your search - "tallest stack of chocolate buttons" - did not match any documents. This may be my weekend ...

I'm pretty sure they're Nestle Smarties in the article's top photo which is pretty funny. Or do M&Ms look different in other regions?

I can't even stack two before the urge to eat them overtakes my patience at stacking. I can stack a bag full in my stomach.

accomplished stacker

That's a good one for the resume. Many of us can call ourselves stackers, but what have we done with the skill? Not accomplished anything like this. Accomplishment pretenders in the M&M realm perhaps, but I bet Yahoo! isn't knocking on any of our doors. Huzzah Mr. Sadeq

Interesting what people will pick to be competitive about

I'm not sure this can be called competition!

Yes, I'm appalled that they are pretending those are M&Ms when they're clearly Smarties! (not the US kind of Smarties). M&Ms have "M" on them? And don't come in pink? Golly, to think someone called this finance journalism...

This brings to mind the legend of the Cursed Candy Bowl: regular M&Ms/Smarties, Reese's Pieces, and Skittles.

I would be quite disappointed if they pass up the clear justification to put "full stack engineer" somewhere on their resumes.
