Hey, remember two or three videos ago when it was supposed to be the "last" one because we were coming out of the pandemic?

Yeah, I just canceled plans tonight because several close friends have COVID and BA.5 is beginning to look like the worst variant yet. Wear your masks guys.

BT, we delayed a family trip for years and as the end of July draws near I just don't know.. "but it's a domestic flight" etc., I don't see a good outcome to this. Might be the last chance to visit numerous family members "back home" as we call it, might be the last trip I make with a sister, I think about this every night.

It is really starting to feel like none of this is real. I feel like we diverged from the most likely universe around the time Harambe died and we are living in one of the improbable branches. I wonder what the real me is doing right now.

I hope the real me is getting laid.

At this point there seems like there's no point in waiting until things get better to do anything. Travel will be highly hazardous for the rest of our lives and waiting longer only has things get worse. I've decided to give up on travel for the rest of my life (pretty much because I can't afford to be sick for weeks in another location) and I'm fine with that, but I never had a burning desire to travel anyway and the people I want to see are mostly within driving range. At this point if you travel, I think you need to plan ahead for "what happens when I get sick there" and see if that's doable for you.

Thanks for the post, jenfullmoon. I've spent the past few days watching all the pandemic videos, then all the mirror mirror videos, and then a bunch of random videos. They're all really fun and made my week a lot better.
