35mm Online is a website where you can stream over 150 classic Polish feature films, with English subtitles, as well as cartoons, documentaries and old news reels. And it's all funded by the European Union and the Polish government. There are films by well known directors, such as Krzysztof Kieślowski and Andrzej Wajda, but it also has work by pioneers like Wanda Jakubowska and Danuta Halladin. [Note: A few films seem to be geolocked, and you need to register to access age-restricted material]
This is awesome--thanks! Someone on Letterboxd has made a list that supports selecting by genre, sorting by average rating, etc. I quickly found several movies that way that I'd intended to watch in the past.

This is great! I'm so happy to see the archives in the Eastern Block opening up for everyone. So much creativity, history, and cultural treasures. Thanks, Kattullus!

Recommendations to start with, though honestly there's not a weak movie in the lot, solid classics all of them:
Both Va Banque movies are excellent heist comedies set in Warsaw between the wars. Watch this if you think The Sting didn't have enough dry humour.
The Magnate is in the same era bit dealing with the Von Pless dukes in Silesia, stylised aristo drama based on the true stories of the sons of Daisy von Pless. For fans of Downton Abbey.
Forbidden Songs is a fascinating half-documentary musical and the first Polish post-war movie, about musical resistance during World War II.
Sexmission is by the same guy as Va Banque, gender play SF comedy that was behind the times and patriarchal even in the 80s, but absurdly quotable - two simple guys get unfrozen in a totalitarian society where men are extinct. Bear in mind the premise was to make fun of communism. Your worst 80s B movie except with excellent quips.
The Ring and the Rose is absurdly low budget fantasy and one of my favourite childhood movies. In the vein of Willow and Czech movies like Fantagiroh.
(And I have to explore the animation section myself because I've seen literally none of these.)

I am GOING to watch some of the animation (maybe lots of the animation!), but the blurbs are really strikingly bleak Maybe I'll start with Mrs. Twardowska. Or My Beloved, Give Me a Crocodile. Or the Tapestry series.
REALLY cool looking collection. Thank you so much for posting this, Katullus!
