Flow State is a substack that, each weekday, recommends an album or two's worth of 'music that's perfect for working (no vocals).'

Ah, this is nice. I've found some interesting artists through these Bandcamp "essential releases" roundups as well.

This is a really great substack! I know a lot of my coworkers can listen to their favorite bands while they work, but that's soooo distracting for me, especially if there are lyrics! So if I want "focus music", I pretty much have to use instrumental-only tracks. I've also found experimental/abstract music to be the most helpful for me.
If you're in the need for instrumental focus music, the "music for programming" folks are a good place to check out (https://musicforprogramming.net, previously on the blue) does something similar. They don't usually do full albums by one artist, they do highly curated playlists, but they share the goal of providing quality music for focus.

Very cool. I've never found a better track for flow state than Common Tones in Simple Time, by John Adams.

wow, this is amazing! About 20% of the music posted was meh, but a LOT is very good (50%), about 10% I'd already heard, and the rest is incredible! Thanks.
