Waiting for the download pissed me off, so I didn't see this, but yes, the Horse & Cow is a quite famous submariner bar, originally in Mare Island, CA, now in San Diego. Every west coast submariner since the 60's has been there, or knows of it.

Free beer for (a year, I think) if you bring in a stolen part of your boat (like the ship's bell, or name plate) to add to the decor.

How do I know this? I'm a submariner. :)
