Cats smuggling booze: So, I think the last mention of Trace Butler's "Lackadaisy Cats" webcomic was almost 10 years ago. And to celebrate reactivation of funding MeFi, I thought I should finally get drunk enough to do a post? Meow?
Of course, I maybe have funded this so I'm probably doing a very bad job of escaping the site policy police, but I hear they're not looking too closely anymore these day (hi mods please don't ban).
Anyway a trailer for the 27 minute short coming up in march has just dropped at Further Confusion 2023 in San José and it's on YouTube now.
Whatever, maybe we should talk about embalming fluid instead? I recently discovered "Auchentoshan" is exactly pronounced like I thought it would. Wait did I just derail my own thread?
People. HELP!

Really looking forward to this!

The algorithm just recommended this to me before the post, and it looks quite good. Clicked over to the comic, and it seems like a bit of a softer visual style than in the strip. Not an objection, just an interesting change. Blacksad wasn’t for me, really, but maybe this is.

I haven't seen this comic or heard of anything about this before, but this looks like a heck of a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to watching it with my eyeballs!

I've never heard of the comic before so thanks - also this is a charming first post.

Ha! The algorithm also introduced me to Lackadaisy yesterday – half a hour later I was a Patreon supporter. I had the dancing flapper cat running on repeat today. I have not experienced such a strong reaction to drawing style and character design since I discovered MLP:FiM on this very site.
There are a lot of (often fan made?) animations on Youtube, many of which are quite delightful.
And now to read from the beginning…

And now to read from the beginning…
Oh! This is a much shorter strip than I expected. Ten years of squeezing in sunday-style pages is a lot of work.

Dang, what a fun read! But if it’s taken ten years to cover like three days of time… man, I hope something happens that can accelerate the writing process.
