Australian earless dragon last seen in 1969 rediscovered in secret location. Victorian grassland earless dragon was once common west of Melbourne but numbers declined due to habitat loss and predators such as feral cats.
“If that dragon is so fearless, why did they hide in an undisclosed location?”

I love how 90% of Australian life-forms are designed only for killing, and this platonic ideal of "just a normal lookin li'l lizard" gets called DRAGON

I’m going to be heartbroken when you run out rare adorable Australian fauna, chariot pulled by cassowaries. How are we expected to continue our mundane lives? 😍

I did not know one could use dogs to sniff out reptiles. Googling for more info found a video of Tommy the conservation dog. And an article about Freya, a dog who can sniff out great crested newts "with more than 87 per cent accuracy" (full article paywalled, but you can see the woolly-eared dog).
