They Came From Outer Space to Become a Show's New Face

[MLYT] In 1989, Australians John Thomson and Mark Shirrefs began planning a children's magazine series hosted by crash-landed aliens learning about Earth. Ten years later, they pitched it... as a children's sitcom ABOUT such a show, hosted by characters the network doesn't know are real alien schoolchildren. It went straight to series without even a pilot order, and got a second season. This is Kid's Breakfast... or rather, Pig's Breakfast.

For the first few seconds of reading this post, I was 100% sure you were going to be talking about They Came From Outer Space, a one-season wonder that graced the syndicated airwaves when I was but a lad.

OK sorry - one last comment, just hit the bit where he's like "saw a ufo" and they're like "nice son - get to bed soon" or whatever and I kept thinking of Corey from Melbourne. And the Broadcaster how he was like trying to get the rabidly wild kid to "settle down". IDK. I'm high. I need sleep. Bye....

To anyone concerned by symbioid's first comment: don't worry. Babelization commences in Episode 1 at timestamp 3:07.
