My thoughts too! I read the longer (first) profile a couple of weeks ago, completely randomly, and was shocked to learn today he had passed. So glad he got to find such happiness.

I lived in San Angelo during the latter half of the 90's while finishing my theatre degree. It is an odd town, unlike any other place I've lived in Texas, and if it wasn't at least three hours from anywhere else, I wouldn't mind living there again. It is the town that cultivated my love of Mexican food to the point where it's my favorite cuisine, just after BBQ and just above Japanese and Korean and far above any other American cuisine. My only complaint about the town at the time was the lack of any decent BBQ restaurants (they had mesquite BBQ, which is an abomination to my palate).

I remember it as being just like the writer said: your business was your own as long as you didn't go making someone else business.

RIP, Mr. Lown
