But seriously, Alaska and the Gulf are also home to large fisheries economies as well.

These economies are not subsidized the way that oil based food production on land is subsidized.

Fishers in the US also have to deal with massive dead zones in the ocean from the Farm Bill.

meaning that they fight MPAs tooth and nail, and it s difficult to blame them. Their business is getting more and more unstable every year, and there s no political hope anywhere in sight
