In my imagination, never feeling out of place

Young schoolchildren from County Cork, working with a non-profit children's music & creative space, have created a piece called 'The Spark" for Cruinniú na nÓg, which is the national free day of creativity for young people, run by the Creative Ireland Programme’s Youth Plan. Take a moment to imagine what you think it might sound like, before you click the link and enjoy 'The Spark'.

It has absolutely no right to slap as hard as it does. Better than some whole sets.

Really enjoying how they picked the rhymes, seemingly deliberately to highlight the Irish accents of the first batch of kids.

They look like they're having a lot of fun, good for them.

awwww this is so great!! what an awesome song and they are clearly all having so much fun. I also love how this highlights the beautiful diversity of people living on the Green Isle. Some of us could really use a "national free day of creativity for young people". Brilliant!

Think you can stop what we do? I doubt it
We've got the energy, we'll tell you all about it
I searched for my spark and I found it
Everybody in the crowd start bouncing

Making bangers at a young age
My pen setting fire to the page
I can show you how to rock the stage
Listen to this in the car, you be getting road rage

Listen up 'cause what we do everything is decent
Kabin crew? ? on top of every playlist
If you see a dream you know we're gonna chase it
So get over any fear, you have to face it

That's my passion and I couldn't live without it
You can do it like we do it, don't doubt it
Any obstacle we find a way around it
If you're proud of who are and what you do shout it!

Ahhh ceol agus craic, I love how Irish kids groups have no sense of cringe and are just like “what’s cool, neon facepain and sunglasses in the club) see also Colaiste Lurgan’s amazing vids, I might make a post.

I also love how, while with some artists, like Annie Lennox, their accent disappears in song, the absolute CAARK of these kids’ shines through.

We’ve had two posts on Lurgan, but the last was seven years ago…

Bring it on - although Lurgan headed up a Monday Weekly Free Thread a couple of months ago.

I put this on when I woke up this morning while making breakfast for the kids, and it was as effective as the coffee in getting me mentally ready for the day.
