Mark Gormley has passed away. Not many recognize the name. And because this is the internet, he was constantly mocked and ridiculed. But he wrote good songs, fine ones that stand on their own.

I never heard of Mark Gormley nor his music previously but I will say listening to it now that I like it.

RIP. Man I remember when I first saw Without You (probably from the blue?) and at first laughing (like I assume most did) but actually it was fucking catchy as hell.

I accidentally stumbled on Mark Gormley's music today and remembered seeing a post about this death, but couldn't recall immediately where. As someone who enjoyed outsider music and lo-fi music, his album is a great discovery to me.

I was reminded of Gormley the other day by a randomly-served Instagram story... which I now realise was probably posted because of his death. Man, I must've listened to Without You dozens of times over the years; what an absolute banger.
