Kiwi actor Rachel House is much-loved as a star of Taika Waititi movies. Now she's making her own. Rachel House is one of New Zealand's best-loved actors. Now she's bringing her comedic chops and Māori heritage to directing.

Woo-hoo! Rachel House! Isn't every TV show and film made in NZ contractually obligated to feature her? I kid, I kid. (Or do I?) She is a fantastic actor, really able to deliver on everything from comedy (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) to tragedy (Cousins) to action (Thor: Ragnarok) to twisty thrillers (Creamerie, which started as a post-apocalyptic semi-comedy but was decidedly not that by the end of S2 — and House was really a grounding element in the show from the start). Even if the thing she is in isn't very good, she is always worth watching. I'm excited to see this.

Oh, this is great! I bet she's a fantastic director. She makes such interesting choices as an actor - unexpected and often delightfully weird, yet always believable. She add so much even to small roles. And of course she's so watchable and has that rich yummy voice. Total standout in Taika Waititi's films! Thanks for posting, I'll keep an eye out for her films.

I love seeing her in NZ films and TV! Loved her in Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, but most recently we finished the latest season of Heartbreak High where she is fabulous as the principal. Highly recommend. I will check out her directorial debut for sure.

She's great - loved her in Hunt for the Wilderpeople. And as lesbian pirate Mary Read in Our Flag Means Death, playing opposite Minnie Driver as Anne Bonny - so talented.

Ahhh awesome, she's the coolest. She's also a tremendous voice actor - I think her performance in Moana might be my favorite in the film and the competition is stiff

I've worked with her in a few plays back in the day and she's lovely, just a great person to work with. See lorens fantastic The Moon is Upside Down for some more Rachel House goodness, it's great.
