When technology fails, not even Morse code can save you. If you are stuck in the Crowdstrike boot loop, you can't use a battle-tested encoding trusted by pilots, submariners, and amateur radio nerds.
I learned it in AIT at Ft. Gordon 1967...Got proficient and probably saved me from Nam.

*blink* It's been a bit since I've seen something vaguely close to the XKCD workflow comic.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should

I do a lot of puzzle hunts so I know … basically the one-point scrabble letters. Plus I can remember H because once I solved a semi-degenerate Morse code puzzle that didn’t use any dashes and the answer was HISSES.

This is hilarious, and if I was still a younger nerd that liked doing dumb, pointless stuff like this it would be fun to use this exclusively for password/login entries and disable the keyboard.
Granted it would be way too easy for someone to shoulder surf my password if they knew Morse code, and doing a "secure" password with a mix of upper/lower case, at least a couple of numbers and symbols would likely be impossible if not bothersome, but it would be funny.
People watching you logging into your laptop would think you're totally unhinged or had a very particular OCD tic. "WTF are you doing? Stop that!"
But it would be amusing and fun to do in an IT job environment just to be irritating and feel or look like a quirky wizard like "Hey, weird, I found a bug that bypasses log in credentials when I do *this* with the lid of my laptop!"

It would be fun and less destructive to use something like the shift key instead of the lid mechanic. If you used left shift for dot and right shift for dash it would still be pretty hard to figure out your password even if you could hear the key strokes. And probably harder to shoulder surf without a recording device.

My mother used to think you could fix the TV or the VCR by smacking it on the side real hard. If I told her that my laptop was broken and this was the only way to get it to work, she would compliment me on my resourcefulness.
