Our site is a "real-time" visualization of the relative scale of different life events and natural phenomena (details on what real-time means below). You can select from various categories, time periods, and some unique units of measure that we created in the dropdowns to modify the counter lists. Each counter counts up in sync with the event listed unless the pause button is selected. You can also click each counter to get sources as well as thought provoking articles and videos that explore the topic in depth.

The "Distance you have traveled through space" counter gives me vertigo thinking about hurling through the void that fast 👀

"Disclaimer: the "Not so Great" category is grim," but I spent two minutes on the main page and wondered for much of it what all these accelerationists are banging on about. It's all going plenty fast already.

This is really cool. It is in the spirit of Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot." We are all so insignificant.

We are all so insignificant.

Not insignificant to the millions of red blood cells you make every second

Like the planet we’re on is one of billions in a galaxy that is itself just one of billions of galaxies but it’s a big deal to me

Perspective is important and so is knowing your place and power. No one is completely insignificant

It’s like a cookie-clicker game where I don’t even have to click anything.

Huh, I’m surprised the rate of cars produced is much lower than cans of spam.

Blame Hawaii.

Uh seriously if you think about it though, how often can a person buy a car versus a can of spam? Most people go years between cars while those of us who eat spam do so multiple times per year.

the "Not so Great" category is grim

Apparently eating chicken and pork ranks up there alongside cancer, dementia and murder in the "grim" category. Vegetarians really do have a different view of the world.

There was a sound... as of five million chickens laying eggs at the same time...
