Beautiful .. and poignant, the longer I live the more I think that all life is sentient, moral - by caging, fencing and ignoring we miss the specialness of all-life.

Bad[faith]-religion, and evolution of the Dorkins [sic] has taught us humans are on top, until we see ourselves as co-equal our civilisation will collapse.

I wonder how unusual this situation is, or if it's more that scientists can allow themselves to notice this kind of thing now?

Thank you for sharing. It's a remarkable story.

What a lovely story. I always know if it's a chariot pulled by cassowaries post it's going to be a good one. Thanks for posting.

This is lovely. I hope that eagle keeps getting stronger.

A couple of winters ago we had a wild turkey around that had an injured foot. It would hop, and from the tracks we could tell that it was only putting down a toe very briefly when walking. Even though it was injured, it still got around, and was always in the middle of the flock when we saw it moving through, never lagging behind. Eventually, it got better, putting more weight on the foot and but we could still tell it was the same turkey by its gate. Gradually, though, the gate got better and then we couldn’t pick it out of the flock. It was really nice to see that turkey eventually be okay.
