For some reason he didn't use his birth name of "Peter LaCock" in show business, but his Major Leage Baseball player son stuck with it.

SO many childhood lunchtimes spent watching Hollywood Squares. And PM was the anchor for all the craziness going on in the squares. A great gameshow host.

I have only ever seen one show in an actual Broadway theater. Fall of 1987, La Cage Aux Folles. We’d just moved to New Jersey from Michigan so I could go to grad school, and my girlfriend bought tickets for my 22nd birthday.

Peter Marshall played Georges. I was initially a bit disdainful—I finally get to Broadway and the star of my show is a game show host? But I was a fan within minutes. The show was wonderful. He was wonderful.

Yes! I saw him in La Cage as well! He was wonderful and I immediately forgot about his connection to Hollywood Squares.
