a perfect rock, Small Town Gods, Shark Girls Run the Food Stall?!, Caveat Emptor, One Last Voyage on the Starlit Sea, Genre Savant, Seedwords, Taking the Scenic Route, Unknown Journal, Michigan Dogman, Hollow Hike, Weird Dishes, Furries in a Toaster, miniBosk, and 20XX: Handbook for the Recently Deceased are 'name your own price' or 'just take me to the downloads' games among the hundreds of entries in the One-Page RPG Jam 2024 (optional theme: "Transport!"). Blerdy Disposition reviews more in "The One Page RPG Jam in 2024 was Wicked," and /r/onepagerpgs has more all the time on these short, simple, improvisational and/or random games that resemble old parlor games like "The Butterfly," "The Impromptu Romance," "Trades" / "The Reader," "Consequences," "The Narrative," or "Family Coach."

I love these things. They don't work for my table so well, but they are always really cool.

Didn't we just have a question on the green about one-shot RPGs?

My regular d&d group has played and enjoyed both Honey Heist and Lasers & Feeling on nights when everyone from the normal party can’t make it.

Honey Heist has an hilarity inducing mechanic where, as a bear, you can’t talk to humans. Unless as the one page instructions say: you “sort of mangle human speech through your bear mouth, maybe?” So someone always tries on a bear voice, which kills around my table.

Seconding the love for Honey Heist; my German anarchosyndicalist burglar bear, Gunther, was a joy to play even if the whole caper went to hell when six bears tried to get away in a Mini Cooper.
