Boy, does somebody have a bee in their bonnet eleven years ago. Hard to think of how to replay that whole sequence of events today.

Ruler of a billion people, and he mentioned Mike Wallace by name and with respect.

Now you know why so many natural disasters have happened over the last few years: Mike Wallace had a confrontational interview with God and refused to take Him at His word (capitalization for God not Mike).

"Nearly three decades ago, during an interview with US journalist Mike Wallace, Deng Xiaoping said, "I always tell the truth, and I always tell our people not to engage in empty talk."

Simple, honest and direct had always been his style. That's why he was nicknamed by former Chinese leader Mao Zedong as "Xiaogangpao"(small-sized gun, referring to a frank and out-spoken person)."
