"But do not blame the Dragon..." - Iron Maiden meets The Clangers

You've heard of Iron Maiden (previously). You've probably heard of singer/songwriter Mitch Benn (previously). You may have heard of cult BBC stop-motion animation The Clangers (previously). Now, thanks to Mitch Benn, we have Iron Maiden's The Clangers. [SLYT, 8m30s)

Also, I was going to do more 'previously' links for Iron Maiden, but there would have been about 20. Just put "Iron Maiden" in the search box above.

Just to add, although Mitch posted this on YouTube a few months ago he's released a high-quality version of the soundtrack on Bandcamp today.

I loved the Clangers as a child. I also saw Iron Maiden a couple of times as a slightly older child (Birmingham Odeon, anyone?). IM are almost impossible to parody as they are (or were, not seen /heard them in a long time) pretty much their own take off of a certain sort of earnest, verging on pompous, heavy metal band. Still, like I said, I saw them a few times, so they got my money.
I still love the Clangers.

Here is the Clangers episode on which this song is based: The Egg.

Watching this made me think how lovely it would be to have more from the Clangerverse, and what a shame it is that there's no Clangers fanfiction, when it dawned on me that I'd begged a rather big question.

So I gave them a search on aooo and there is fanfiction. Not a huge amount, mind.

I'm not going to check whether The Clangers obey Rule 34 though.

The person who made this also made Gilbert & Sullivan's Dracula.
