Native species reclaiming their desert homeland

These native species were locally extinct but are now reclaiming their desert homeland. A number of native animals, extinct in New South Wales for more than 100 years, are reclaiming the desert in Sturt National Park and scientists are trying to teach them how to survive predators like feral cats.

Thanks for this and all your posts from Australia. It is so nice to read about ways that we can start to reverse the damage we've done to ecosystems. Here in California, we've just seen the completion of the Klamath Dams removal, something that should restore salmon habitat in addition to other critters, plants, etc. The local tribes are very involved in reseeding the exposed land with native plants so invasive species will have less of a chance to spread.
