Oh man, this is awesome.

Skipped straight to 'Wurlitzer Jukebox', worth the price of admission all by itself.

They are smoking so much one could get contact emphysema just for watching this. And the YT comments are to die for:

I've never seen Allison take off her coat halfway through the set before

and Stuart takes of his jacket 3/4 through ;)

Neotonous Stone Gargantuans

I don't know why I find Allison so pretty and huggable

Are they time travelers? Did they cover Hole before Hole wrote the song?

Are they time travelers?

Given their music still sounds like the future, I think there's some solid evidence for this proposition.

yes.

I own two different copies of Colossal Youth and I also rewired my entire speaker system because of this album (it wasn't necessary but it was also good).

I love this band.

Oh hey that’s just down the street from me! It’s a fantastic space, they often have really interesting events on. Well worth checking out if you’re in Vancouver BC

I love that performance, I must’ve put it on a dozen times.

My friend Jeanne Legault, former resident of New Orleans mentioned in passing in my Carsie Blanton post -- who has had the most transtemporal multiple dimensional encyclopedic knowledge of contemporary music of any human being I have known so far -- turned me onto both Young Marble Giants' Colossal Youth and Neu '75 on one ten minute car ride she gave me home to Capitol Hill in the 1980. Nowadays her husband Joe Swinford -- another musical polymath on an equally grand galactic scale -- and she both produce The Original Trash City Radio Show. I don't think there is a better source to hear contempary music of all eras on the planet at present. Plus they have Biscuit, the most adorable Maine Coon cat ever. Friend them on Facebook and subscribe to their show. Because, in the immortal words of Richard 'Dick' Proennke, You Can't Beat That.

Edenscomic, I used to play an ancient vinyl of Colossal Youth on my college radio show, and my strongest association is of the difficulty of getting the levels right for the beginning of Searching for Mr. Right. I love your comment and your project.
