Just watched South Pacific on TCM a few days ago - what a movie - what a star.

D'ya ever get the feeling like the whole world's a tuxedo Mitzi Gaynor and you're just a pair of brown shoes plain old George Gobel?

I grew up around several Roger’s And Hammerstein’s movie soundtracks, and South Pacific was always a favorite. RIP, Mitzi!

Funny, talented, and lovely.
Hope this doesn't come across as disrespectful, just meant to be an amusing personal connection:
So, back around 1970, my dad (around 20 at the time) worked deliveries for a florist in L.A., and, one of his regular drop-offs was Mitzi Gaynor, who, according to my dad, had a certain fondness for the, ahem, company of younger men, of which my dad, supposedly, was one. Not sure if it is true (and all parties involved are now deceased, so no way to ever find out), but it is a story he told many times when I was younger, even though as a kid I had no idea who the heck Mitzi Gaynor was.

Les Girls is an underrated gem, and she's fabulous in it.

I remember seeing her with my parents at the Arena Theater in Houston when I was a kid. This was in the round, where there was noplace to hide, and she owned it.
