Half a dozen exceptional One Minute Films. Also, from reddit, half a dozen exceptional Five Minute films. (Five minutes or less, that is). Seven minute limit. Finally, ten good shorts under ten minutes. posted by storybored (9 comments total) 36 users marked this as a favorite

Thanks for posting this. Will watch more, but I only had a few minutes before bed. Loved the Black Hole one. Great concept. And for some reason, I really like the Thin Watermelon one. 32 seconds. No real story. What it says on the tin so to speak. But, the reveal is still surprising (to me?).

This sounds fantastic, and I am really looking forward to checking them all out.

Thank you so much, storybored!

I've been chipping away at this letterbox list of 12,668 "films that are shorter than 15 minutes" (sorted from the highest ave. reviews). There are many bangers there, and most can be seen on Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, ok.ru and other non-pay streamers, with subtitles when needed.

From the first few listed, I would recommend:

Isle of flowers

Ice merchants

The house of small cubes

Double King

Glass

Vincent

Cat skin

Daybreak express

Zoo

Too long? Try the old "5 seconds films" [Sort by 'Popular. Fuck you YouTube, for disabling the 'Popular' option!].

Black Hole! Haven't seen that one since like 2010. Thanks for sharing these.

I'll chime in with a third recommendation for Five second films. They are a waste of your time, but not very much of it...

Five Second Films is great, and has been around forever, but still makes new content, unlike many old Youtube channels from its time.

I guess it falls to me to be the dour voice and remind everyone that Reddit is not the good place it long pretended to be, with its unceremonious dumping of many volunteer laborers, its selling posts to AI content generators and its exclusive search agreement with Google. I won't belabor the point, but I feel like these things shouldn't be forgotten, that the stains on its legacy should not so easily be washed away.

I disagree that Five Second films doesn't waste much of your time. Every time I am reminded of them I spend way too long watching many, many short videos.
