Come for the shivers, stay for the chills!
Also, my fave out of these--and yes yes I am sure MeFites will trip over themselves to be dismissive--is the couple who fed feral cats and one night got more than what they bargained for!
Anyway, Happy Halloween, ghouls and gals!

Scariest thing I've personally seen: parasite worms breaking out of a caterpillar. The most frightening part is that it seemed choreographed. One white, almost translucent end sprouted out and wriggled near the caterpillar's head. What was likely the opposite end of the same worm broke out from the other side. This continued down along the caterpillar. It was as if it were growing tentacles.

I absolutely love these. My favorite lie from one of the "wrong" hose stories is My wife described it as something else pretending to be a house.

Dog Door
So...was it a local kid? A grown woman? We only have she/her pronouns. What happened to that person? This story ends without enough resolution. Argh!
Go Away
I take it they just weren't fans of a family member's spirit visiting?
Just Up the Stairs
Right, so this one worked. No notes.
Not a Cat
What it said on the tin.
Night Terrors
Yah, tear that house down and salt the earth.
Doing its Job
Welp. The "some people think it's X or Y, but I don't think it was," kind of feels like it could have been X and Y.
Kayaking Trip
That's an aquatically horrifying experience.
The Neighbor
Decay is such a peculiar stench, at first, sweet, then nauseatingly so, like nature decided the best way to evolve flashing siren lights to primitive mammals to avoid rotting flesh was to start the bypass to the no go zone from the sugar favorite portion of the tongue. But the blood. Hrm.
The Mustang
The first sign that there could be a problem was the 90's era Mustang.
Too Cold
Lady in White. :x
Thanks for sharing the stories!

The When Harry Met Sally "nobody notices for three weeks until the smell drifts into the hallway" death actually happened, eh?

Not a Jezebel tale, but I read this ghost story in the Bitter Southerner late at night last week and it absolutely wrecked me.
