“The idea of calling our music ‘alt K-pop’ also started as satire. ‘We’re not K-pop idols, but let’s make some K-pop anyway,’ that idea. But as you do it more, you kinda become more aligned with it and believe in it. Even though it started as a joke, it became our reality.” Balming Tiger Is Re-Writing the Rules of K-Pop

Brighten your day with and shake your buri to the irreverent pop of Balming Tiger. Some videos to get you started: Other press:

I love these guys and didn't know anything about them until Sexy Nukim. As a recent BTS convert, I dig the hell out of what Balming Tiger is doing and how they go about. Interestingly, RM was so inspired by the way they work and their vision of music that he delayed his enlistment by months to record a whole new album Right Place Wrong Person
But yeah, these guys are doing some very cool stuff and I'm glad I got to get a chance to find them.

I discovered Balming Tiger via RM (BTS) and am stunned by their work. That collaboration - Sexy Nukim' - was not just a collaboration, but proof to BTS ARMYs that, " ... the best is yet to come."
Balming Tiger is so much more than music.

(I'm smirking at the (US) music industry. They have basically dissed all Kmusic. - it reminds me of how they dismissed Punk early on. They can't read the writing on the wall, even when the wall is falling on them.)

Wow, didn't know Balming Tiger was an art collective, but it totally makes sense with their anarchic pretty/ugly style. They come off as really confident and charming; I love when artists can play around with popular music without being reactionary. Really looking forward to see where they go from here!

I'm another person (ok, a BTS ARMY) who learned about Balming Tiger through "Sexy Nukim," and I've been enjoying their work so much. I love how much fun they're having, how much play is going into their art--and also how easy they make it to share that.
