Happy Thanksgiving Long-weekend Canada! Whether you celebrate it in October or November, it's hard to deny that the true meaning of Thanksgiving is now about football (3 down or 4 down), food and family. Enjoy some Friday Thanksgiving Flash with Homestarrunner. And be sure to give to your local food bank.

happy thanksgiving damclean2...! i made my october contribution to daily bread last week.

hands dash_slot his missing "r"

yah nice site. not. but the thanksgiving history is accurate.

i accidentally deep linked to an innocuous item once that turned out to be on a racist site and it freaked me out so much i've been hyper vigilant ever since... before i post anything anywhere, i check the overall tone of the site of origin first. hate sites often feature innocent material on purpose, to bring in unaware visitors and to increase ranking in search engines.

Whoops. Sorry everyone. Didn't even check it. Deep linking is bad... so is racism... yikes. My bad.

Woo...Canadian racism...

Typical and predictable response from a painfully politically correct person. Any commentary suggesting anything less than opening the floodgates is 'racist'....Not such a bright comment from you, slashdot.

Kaslo, did you even look at the site, or do you just not care about its contents, because they provide tangential support for your positions? Check out the "news" links on the sidebar... you'll find out that the government has declared all-out war on whites.

This is fear-mongering crap at its worst.

Kaslo, no any commentary that says "immigration equals crime" or "immigration's silent health threat," as this one does, and more, is racist.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would know the site is run by Marc Lemire; you would know that Mr. Lemire is one of Canada's leading hate-mongers, with a long record of attacking non-whites, personally responsible for most of the major neo-Nazi and neo-fascist websites in Canada.

But instead of knowing what you're talking about, you simply insult dash_slot.

In the future, why not hold your tongue until you can find a clue?

Sorry to make the first comment a negative one,...

Sorry, but a comment that contorted from the original post has no real excuse. If you want to try so hard to bash canada, just make a front page post and be done with it.

holycola, I don't understand your comment. What does 'contorted' mean, in this context: "Sorry, but a comment that contorted from the original post has no real excuse"?

I dont want to bash Canada - I am entirely well-disposed to Canada. That website despoils canada's good name, not me, and I deplore it. I do not connect that site with Canadians in general.

I fear you are reading too much into it.

I would have emailed you, but neither your mefi page, nor your website have an address.

What's the view of Thanksgiving in Quebec? Is it a point of unification or division? The thing I've always liked about Thanksgiving in the States is that it's truly the American Holiday, celebrated by everyone.
