La Speranza - take a surrealistic Sunday stroll through Viennese artist Luigi La Speranza's gallery of illustrations, watercolors, paintings and sculptures.
A pleasing semi-surrealistic pseudo-stroll through a Brueghelistic universe.

Let's take Bosch and add a whimsical, modern age spin to his brilliantly horrific images of his twisted nightmare beasts and landscapes! You know, come to think of it, let's not.
The guy is technically proficient, I suppose, but I don't think he's as weird or creative as I'm guessing he thinks he is. As an artist myself, I don't understand why another artist would so directly mold their style after someone else's. That's the only thing I found creepy on this site.

Interesting that you would say that, picea - the word Bosch is twice hidden in searchable text at the bottom of the index page.
Thanks for the Daliesque surreal Sunday stroll, madamjujujive. It's amusing how we're all seeing something different in these paintings - Dali, Bosch, Brueghel, and some giant head named Miguel.

I see a lot more Bosch here than anything else, although he pays a fair bit of tribute to medieval naturalists and iconographers as well. Bosch was one of the most imitated artists of the Middle Ages, so at least he's carrying on a proud, if somewhat creepy, tradition.

I thought you were talking about Lady Wilde, Oscar's Mom.

octobersurprise - but of course, Lady Wilde, salon hostess extraodinaire! I just didn't make that association. She would make a fine posting topic in her own right.
MrBalHai - haha, you can have the brand rights for "some giant head named Miguel." I doubt anyone will fight you for them!
Interesting observations by all... Dali, Bosch, Brueghel, and I see a tad bit of Audubon thrown in for good measure. I really like the page forward/page backward navigation elements myself!
