United States Senate Has New Website

The United States Senate's Website has been redesigned. Checking on today's Senate activities, I was pleasantly surprised to find the redesign. Poking around it is very easy to use, in comparison to other Government websites.
Ah, sweet CSS.
It'd be nice if whoever did this could hook up the Census Bureau's home page.
Now if only they'd ditch the tables and hook both sites up properly for accessibility.
S. at L.: How often did you visit the old site?

Bah -- it's just a pretty face. Thomas.loc.gov is where the action really is!
Man, what I wouldn't give to have the chance to put together a little CSS package for Thomas....

The blue page, the sidebar... It looks suspiciously like this site
Except, there's no MetaSenate grey-screen section

If they did, it would make our MeTa look like a genuine Kum-by-yah campfire girls love fest. How entertaining. They could probably raise some good fundage by charging to view something like that.

They really need to enforce standards for all parts of the site, though. Some of the committee's sites make my eyes bleed...

There oughta be a law against unenforced standards. And they're just the folks to pass it! (Especially if there's bleeding eyes involved.)

As a DC resident, I wish they had a link to or information on our shadow Senator (Of course what I really wish is that we had real representation.)

I think this change is appropriate. The new seal looks like stained glass. Sounds about right for this Congress.
