Letters to the Editor or Refried Spam? A set of letters favoring George W. Bush's tax cut plan appears in the Boston Globe, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, and many other newspapers. Even though the letters all have different authors, the wording is almost identical. Is this the harbinger of a new wave of pseudo-grass roots, Astroturf politics?

I even read this tripe in the St. Augustine (population 12,000) Record the other day. Honestly, GOP, it's not like small North Florida towns are hotbeds of liberal contention, all you've done is wasted space that could have been devoted to the far more entertaining hyper-conservative nonsense that our own citizens submit daily.

Put your comment there also. It's a good'un. I also think the Astroturf link should go in the other thread as well (if it's not there already). I didn't realize this had been done (at least) once already - or that the Boston Globe, of all papers, had fallen for it twice.
