Super Scapegoat

"Highway Deaths Spike After Super Bowl" says a study in today's New England Journal of Medicine. The Super Bowl has also been blamed for a spike in domestic violence and increased usage of water systems. Some articles try to set the record straight, while others try to debunk the debunkers. I prefer to concentrate on the real meaning of the Super Bowl, the commercials.
"Thanks, Stan, but wouldn't these ads be more appropriate?" he said as he stopped cheering long enough to scoop a Frito into the cheese dip and wash it down with 44 oz. of Mountain Dew.

Marvelous post, Frank. Thanks so much for taking the time to compile this. It's timely, with interesting news content but not limited to a single breaking news story, and is the single best online resource on the Super Bowl domestic abuse issue I've ever seen.
Bravo.
