Copyright Infringement Like Nothing Else!

The Future of Copyright? Spoof GUI alerts from new media artist Perry Hoberman. Wry, yet creatively chilling satire . Also be sure out the rest of the "ACCEPT" exhibit, especially the OK/Cancel dialog boxes and My Life in Spam. Hey, has anyone here seen this exhibit in person?

Fair Use Defense radio buttons should be checkboxes.

Some the spoof dialogs are similar to real life error messages

Pity that the exhibition's already closed; I'd certainly want to go see it. And yes, I think the "infringement series" is only a slight exaggeration of the future that our coporate overlords want to impose on us.

Nothing begets head explosion quite like:
"An error occurred because an error occurred."

It raises the question, where would you like to go today? I just hope we learn to think different before this becomes the choice of a new generation. So please, reach out and touch someone.

You beat me to it. Rigor, please!
Still, very good link, thanks.

These are very funny, though they remind me a bit of my all-time favorite Penny Arcade strip.

Let me pick one more nit, if you will. On Windows, the Default button of a dialog box is the leftmost button, whereas on the Mac it's the rightmost. (Yes, this is very stupid.)
Sometimes, the default button is rightly placed on both platforms, but the labels don't follow, therefore changing the default option, and the piece's meaning at the same time. At other times, the default button is placed at right in Windows, in an ill attempt to keep the default option the same. The artist should have moved the default label from right (Mac) to left (Windows), and kept the proper default button placement for each platform.
Still, these are very funny. I like the wallpaper variety, it's a nice touch.
None of these comes close to jodi's amazing computing experiences, as far as I'm concerned. WARNING: preceding link contains extreme popups!
