Bush shows off high-tech Air Force One

"Any baseball game in America," says Bush, "including the one in your backyard, Timmy. Mwahahahahahah!"

Flying to Qatar from Jordan yesterday, President Bush showed off to the press some of the high-tech gadgetry installed on Air Force One after September 11.

Was that arrogance or was it just a slow news day on Air Force One?

Posting fictional George Bush quotes to Metafilter? Now that's a slow news day.

In other news, George W. Bush today pinched a massive loaf on Air Force I after a rousing meal of enchiladas and guacamole dip. The loaf, decried by Democrats and the liberal media as excessive in its scope and sheer magnitude, was immediately the subject of world-wide reporting and speculation as Bush aides called in on-board reporters for a glance at the majestic output.

Was it arrogance, or just a slow news day on Air Force One?

"And in this corner we have one of them laser checkout stations just like at the A&P! Daddy SO loves that thang!"

Oh fine, then, substitute parentheses for the quotes around the second (yes, fictional) part of the quote. Lighten up, for chrissakes.

I'm glad Bush can be anywhere over the US and still be able to watch baseball. That's comforting.

You're right, that's totally inappropriate. I know I would never invite my buddies over to see my new big screen tv. How is this news/interesting/filterworthy?

I think it's established that Bush doesn't have any media dealings anymore that are not totally thought-through and targeted in purpose. This was his way of getting information into the public sphere about the fact that in the case of an attack, the President can be running things from the air. Newsworthy in a small way, but not really snarkworthy.

Don't watch baseball with Bush, he'll just want to watch the Rangers.

It's just so arrogant for Bush to show the public what we're paying for on Air Force One. I mean, who cares what the government does with our taxes?

He stressed that it allowed "real-time" video conferences that are not affected by distance.

Bush team cracks laws of physics and/or speed of light?

Wow.. I could never be President.
Headlines would include:

President takes himself and friends on Air Force joyrides.
President drives and fires Army tank, says "This is baddass!".
President spends weekend paintballing with Delta.
President drinks too much.
President throws party, some remove clothes at "naked time".

"Any baseball game in America?" So, Bush steals satellite signals? Where's the call for impeachment?
