Faster Pastor - Billboard Humour - a lovely and very funny pictorial archive of billboards from a British church, done by a Rev. Paul Sinclair, who has other eccentric services as well...

Most are quite amusing. I'm not especially of the ones derogatory to atheists. I'd say something intelligent, but I'm a bit tired, and the only response I can think of is a good solid raspberry.

Great fun! I'm a bee much more attracted to honey than to vinegar, so If I ever felt like going to a church, I would definitely make it a point to check this one out.

The kid quotes were great.

Good Luck? - hey, us atheists got New Years and Groundhog Day, and we're slowly taking Easter and Christmas away from you too. They're all about Coca-Cola™ and Cadbury™ Cream Eggs and Halmark™ Cards now; none of that Jesus stuff.

At the risk of killing my own thread (assuming it would ever have gone beyond 6 comments anyway) I hope this doesn't turn into a big atheist vs. Christian flamefest. For what it's worth, I'm agnostic myself (or "weak atheist" if you prefer) and I thought the billboards were quaint and gently humorous.

I remember that shortly after the Hatfield Disaster one of our local churches put up a billboard with the slogan (and I'm paraphrasing now, but you get the idea) "Don't go off the tracks... Come to church". To ram the point home, they also included a picture of some railway lines underneath the text.

I was sickened, but of course the church didn't remove the poster, and the A.S.A was powerless to ask them to do anything because it was on "private property".

Actually it makes me angry just thinking about it.

These billboards are definitely a cut above what most churches put up. Nice to see someone trying instead of just regurgitating what they've read on other church signs.

There was a church near where we lived in San Francisco that often had a banner up that read, "God has sent you a sign, and THIS IS IT!" I always thought that was kind of funny.

Now, if you don't mind, I have to go paste up some bills that tell Christians how stupid they are. That'll be a laugh riot.
