A pattern map for a conservation economy [Flash.] "The pattern map offers a visual guide to the sustainability patterns that provide a framework for developing a conservation economy." [Via WorldChanging.]
Any mirrors? For me, all connection attempts to conservationeconomy.com time out...

I guess it wasn't sustainable.

It's back. The map is really great.
Thanks for noting this!
Thanks for posting it in the first place! WorldChanging is definitely one of the best things online right now. And allow me to compliment you on your post on the Saami. Great minds think alike. ;)

Its an interesting idea but still has some way to go. I'd prefer to see some more focus on issues such as access to electricity and potable water over things like 'access to knowledge'. In my own field (Renewable Energy) the entry could be strengthened and considerable depth added both in terms of facts regarding the technology and with regard to the place of RE within the economy, eg with respect to the position of RE in the regulatory framework and on electricity networks, the use of RE sources for heat and transport, etc. If this applies to other fields then this represents the kernel of a good idea but could usefully operate as both a low and high level tool with additional input.

We'd be glad to have that input, biffa, as well as any links to things you think we could cover better:

I'll try and put some suggestions together in the next month, though I can't promise anything.

In the original post I ask
"A needed next step, however, is a build-your-own collaborative pattern map: say, a sustainability wikipedia with a graphic interface. It's great to see Stewart's take on this: it'd be revolutionary to be able to work with others to emerge your own. Anyone know of anything like that, or have suggestions about how such a thing ought to work?"
Would be interested to know if anyone here has some ideas on this front.
