Political Roadtrips - Here's a novel alternative to protesting Bush - visiting swing states to register voters there.
excellent idea. Voter registration is going to be key this year.

Here's an idea: learn a bit about John Kerry's past and connections before deciding on "protesting Bush", voter registration and so forth.

It's a deal. Before voting, learn the facts about both Bush and Kerry and then make up your mind.

111, are you actually suggesting that voter registration is not a good thing?

111, feel free to post some links investigating Kerry's past and connections.
So far, I have looked up his Project Vote Smart info. He has, unfortunately, declined to fill out an NPAT, like every other Presidential candidate I can remember. There's information about his voting record, scorecards from interest groups, and links to a opensecrets campaign finance data.
This data is currently less available for Bush (except for campaign finance) for some odd reason. Anyone know why?

amberglow: In a long ago post I linked to an article by Thomas Sowell (one of the few right wing pundits I have some respect for) called "We don't need more voters, we need better voters." It's offline now and I can't find it anywhere, but I often wonder if the basic sentiment isn't true.
Of course, mobilizing voters that *I* want to vote is a good thing.

111 truly think s George Bush will make a better president than John Kerry. He also truly thinks that where your penis goes in this life has an effect on your eternal soul. Draw your own conclusions.

It has an effect on your mortal soul, though that particular effect is debated...
