And I pray you can make it better down here. I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer

Pray For Reason is a call to Americans of all religions and belief systems who want to see their country's policies at home and abroad based on facts, history, and reasonable thought processes.
My favorite: Dear God (in all your forms), protect us from those humans among us who wish to direct the destiny of the world for their own gain. Bring them humility, compassion and enlightenment, and allow them to see the interconnection of all beings. (Or bring down upon them a rain of burning rocks, whichever strikes your fancy.) Amen

Hmm. I thought Hollywood and paleontologists did that.

But hey, other than that, this is pretty much how I pray every day.

Whew. All of us atheists can safely mock BOTH sides of this debate.

I was really surprised that so many people are praying for Bush every day. (glurge/nausea warning for that link)

There will never be peace so long as more than one religion exists.

There will never be peace so long as 0 religions exist.

Here's the perl code:

if($humanThoughtCultureEtc =~ m/([:religion:])*/)
{
$peace = 0;
}
else
{
$peace = 1;
}

Speaking of religions....

A new religious coalition, including a bishop of President George W. Bush's church, has purchased airtime on Arab television expressing sorrow for abuses committed by U.S. soldiers against Iraqi prisoners and calling the actions "sinful and systemic."

"As Americans of faith, we express our deep sorrow at abuses committed in Iraqi prisons," the ad says. "We stand in solidarity with all those in Iraq and everywhere who demand justice and human dignity."

The irony....

Too bad reason & religion are mutually exclusive.

Praying for reason is like writing about music.
