Perhaps I freaked out a little rapidly. The parody names are what you posted, not the product announcement itself. But still, considering that 1 of your previous posts was "Announcing Low Car Coke" I smelled a product placement post and lost it. To spell it out: product marketers have enough reach into our lives without our posting their new product announcements on MetaFilter.
The Pepsi comments are a reference to the time that someone posted "Annoucing Pepsi Blue" when that product was introduced. A now-famous miscalculation. Actually I'd say you were lucky to get off as easy as you did with the low-carb Coke thread.

"Announcing Low Car Coke"
A soft drink for people who drive lowriders seems overly specific. Especially since "Monster Truck Coke" disappeared so quickly. But that might have been because their celebrity endorser, Gravedigger, flattened a loaded school bus.
