Slick Ball (shockwave) — Fun little German Marble Madness-type game.
Neat. Those who want a home version should check out Ballance.

marble madness was the only game my mom would ever play on a regular basis. until one day, like a flamshowl fool, I swapped madness for contra with an older kid she used to babysit (used to meaning : the kids momma owed my momma $100.) it was supposed to be a temporary exchange. long story short, the kid caleb breaks madness, im "stuck" with contra, and mom's got her head shaking disbelief at me.

For some reason I find it loads slow as all hell in FireFox but reasonably quickly in IE. *shrug*

I have to know: is it just me, or is this really sort of difficult? And what the hell am I supposed to do after I get past the stairs and to that weird drop-off point?

Loads fine in OS X and Safari, and I'm impressed with how slick it looks and runs.

It turns my computer volume to maximum every time the game starts, which pisses me off. I had it low for a reason.
But I shouldn't complain, because I get so impatient with these games I end up running the ball off the edge almost instantly. Not for me.

Actually, never mind: what kills me is the crazy downhill twisty slide. How do you stay on that nutty thing?

Yeah, slow it down by pressing the space bar on the slide.
I got past that... but then my time ran out! As if the game wasn't hard enough already without a time limit.
Sadly, they missed the chance to make this a lot more fun and addictive by making it that difficult.

My my limited ability to read the language there's a commercial version that offers more than the one leve.. if they gave you a level editor I'd be all over that shit.
Actually I know enough OpenGL that I could probably whip up an engine fairly easily, maybe take about a week of coding to do..

The space bar slows you down! This changes everything!!! I got past the slide by provided counterforce with the arrow keys but it was very difficult and time consuming. Aaaaargh.
