/.com and Fat Boy Slim

/.com gets a single from Fat Boy Slim. In his recently released new album Palookaville, FatBoy Slim [better known to the general public for hit parade tracks like Weapon of Choice (video, multiple formats)(featuring some impressive dancing skill by Christopher Walken), Praise You, Bird of Pray et al] dedicates the 2nd track to /.com. Question is...how long till some artists evokes the MetaFilter from the prestigeous internets ?
Yeah I heard this single on the radio the other day. It just not interesting.

Fat Boy Slim is high-impact, snapping me to the next level. Whether I'm stepping up to the vert ramp or just gawking at Dave Mirra from the comfort of my couch, that solid shot of spicy beef has my back. Oh wait, that's Slim Jim.

Are you claiming this song is a reference to Slashdot?

I miss Brighton. Sometimes. There were robins there.

if you've got winamp or an nsv player, the video is being hosted at the bottom here. it's also under the winamp.com videos section in the media library (ctrl+L).

This song is NOT a reference to Slashdot.
Slashdot.com is not Slashdot's 'home', it is Slashdot.org.
In fact, I'd be extremely surprised if Fatboy Slim even knows what Slashdot is.

I think it's great that he was trying to be all web-trendy (yo I'm way up with this at slash dash dot youth stuff, groovy man) and accidentally ended up saying -- of all things -- Slashdot.

FBS has been a pioneer and made some great stuff, but this? I'd rather listen to a power drill.

Does anyone believe the Damned knew anything about Ramifications Internet Services
when "song.com" was recorded?

So the video appears to be "about" two poorly dressed people vandalizing a public bathroom with big markers.
Color me not impressed.

Sucks so bad I had to stop listening. Is it time for a Housemartins reunion yet?

Of course, the metafilter wiki has known about this for months.
FBS is on record as saying that the title came about as a consequence of him just liking the sound of web-addresses and the way the words went together. This is not a reference to slashdot.

I agree. Maybe even a jackhammer. It's one of the most annoying songs I've heard in a while.
