Neon lights - shimmering neon lights. And at the fall of night, this city's made of light. - Kraftwerk.
I think the point is that adamgreenfield loves New York.

Dude, 16.7% of Manhattanites voted for Bush. (Same percentage in El Bronx.) 16.7%! How can we not love New York?

Now, if only there were some sort of personal web diary, or log, if you will, where people could post their favorite pictures and write their ideas.
Ah, well; lacking that, we have MetaFilter.

I'm not always so hamfistedly inarticulate, I hope.
I dunno, I just felt like giving some love to a place that still has room for all different kinds of people at a time when most of the country seems not to want to. I'm honestly sorry if you felt it was a waste of your time, or of Matt's server space.

Hey! what about San Francisco? We also voted 83% for Kerry and I'd say we're a pretty diverse bunch here too...

Yo!
Thanks for the love, my blue friends. NYC has been my city for 27 years, and I love her to death.
vacapinta: San Francisco is the New York of California.

Adamg, I was not trying to be critical of the post, just interested in getting past your "hamfistedly inarticulate" wording to some understanding. Maybe after that criticism, who knows.

Actually, as a NYer, I'm kinda starting to like the idea of us being loathed by the rest of the country again. There's something comfortable about it, like old shoes.
