Sore Thumbs

Sore Thumbs - A webcomic featuring a liberal girl, her ultra-conservative brother and mother, her ditzy best friend, and a love interest who lost his manhood in Iraq (and the love interest's pet bear). All (sans mother) working at a video game store. Well drawn, and very funny (and not just liberal humour, although there is plenty of that too)
Yeah, and the characters are drawn all sexy like!
Good stuff!

The comic is funny if read as a parody of web-comics, where the giant breasted ultra liberal gamer girl makes pandering jokes clearly written by a man who doesn't play video games or take politics seriously. Which isn't an insult, it's what I honestly believe Chris Crosby is trying to do, and that people just aren't getting the joke. He's a legitimately funny guy, but this isn't a comic to be taken seriously.

I've been reading this comic, and I like it , but I can never buy into female characters with boobs bigger than their heads and pink hair. My favorite web comics are these two.

I find the majority of webcomics rather generic and lame - the only one that's been able to hold my attention for its entire run is Scary Go Round. Something about the writing style is very unique, and dare I say... 'cute.'

Sorry, but I don't think this comic is very clever. Even if it is some kind of postmodern commentary on web comics.
A couple of friends of mine did recently start a web comic with the sole purpose of saying how much web comics suck. They really need jobs.

About Sore Thumbs? Fuck, the world already has entirely too many self-conscious amateur comics about spunky gals and video games. I require a healthy dose of dada or perversion.

I tried to get into Sore Thumbs since I saw their advertisement on Something Positive. But it was just too much witty subversion and not enough misanthropic sarcasm. Now, Men in Hats, that's a bitter web comic.
Some of my particular favorites.

I'm a liberal and I don't think the jokes are very funny nor are the conservatives believable, they sound like what really dumb leftists think conservatives are like.

Oh hey, is this where we all plug webcomics? vgcats is much better than a videogame webcomic about anthropomorphic cats has any right to be.
